Horse Riding

The last High King of Ireland ended his days in Cong Abbey the remains of which can still be seen today. Natural outcrops of limestone provide refuge for many rare plants and wild creatures. Our trail rides are through forest paths and quiet laneways between Lough Corrib and Lough Mask. There are beautiful views of the lakes and the Connemara Mountains.

Kayaking

From a gentle introduction to kayaking, to learning more advanced skills, you will embark upon a very special journey on Lough Corrib. With the hills and mountains rising from the edges of the water you will be amazed by the beautiful scenery as you travel on the lake to explore the islands, taking in spectacular views of Ashford Castle and Connemara.

We have an extensive fleet of sit on top kayaks with both single and double options available. Whether you are an experienced paddler, or just looking to try something new, our qualified guides will ensure the experience is tailored to your needs.

Visit an Ancient Irish Castle

Ashford Castle is a medieval and Victorian castle that has been expanded over the centuries near Cong on the Mayo-Galway border, on the Galway side of Lough Corrib in Ireland. Was previously owned by the Guinness family.

Golf Course

The course, the original deer park of the estate, was designed by the renowned Irish golf architect Eddie Hackett and imaginatively integrates a wide variety of natural features and hazards to create charming par 3s, exciting par 4s and a formidable par 5. The legendary Irish golfer, Christy O’Connor Senior started his illustrious career here in 1947 as our professional before going on to participate in 10 Ryder Cups!
